DEFINITION

DEFINITION

Tech House borrows its rhythms from Detroit Techno and its grooves and bass lines from House. It is underground and sometimes confused with Deep House, which is more elaborated on all levels (melody, harmony and groove).

The Tech House thus wants minimalist. One can recognize its kick-hat-snare simplistic pattern, opposite to the developed percussions of Deep House.

STRUCTURE GENERALE

GENERAL STRUCTURE

||: BOOM tchik Clap tchika-BOOM tchik Clap tchik :||

Avec : BOOM = kick*
Clap : snare/clap

The structure of the Tech house is close to that of the House but has more serious and distorted that kicks the House shorter kicks, close to real drums and faster hats and snares more virulent. On the other hand, environmental sounds used, similar to those of the Techno, were seeking to sound very artificial.

One can easily summarize the typical rhythmic pattern of Tech House as follows:

||: BOOM tchik Clap tchika- BOOM tchik Clap tchik: ||

With 'BOOM' = kick *
'Clap': snare / clap
'-ka' = cross-stick (sound produced by percussion of the edge of the snare drum)
'Tchik = hit hat * (Charleston closed)
bold = time.

Unlike Progressive House, Tech House not evolving much in a same track and aims to create a groove within a short and repetitive pattern.
